âThatâs a misconception, Beelzebub. Furcas never tells me a fucking thing. If he trusts me so much, why didnât he take me with him?â
Beelzebub thought for a second. âYou come to me if you hear from him.
âYes, sir, I will.â
Jessica
Sullivanâs arm radiated warmth across her side and chest. She thought about stories of her great-grandparents, Martin and Aggie. Their love was a legend in her family, separated for years and found each other again. Her mom found them dead one morning; Aggie was still wrapped in Martinâs arms.
Sullivan rolled over toward the other side of the bed. She slid out of the sheets and draped a robe over her shoulders. Jessica shuffled to the bathroom. She twisted the knob for the shower. A towel lay on the counter. Hot water ran through her hair down her skin in a rapid race to the drain.
The door opened when Jessica stepped out for her towel. Sullivan mumbled something her direction as he made it to the toilet. She snickered. âI love you too.â He gave her a kiss while she dried off. A mumble slipped from his lips as he smirked and ripped the towel from her hands. She tried to grab it back, but Sullivan ran out the door. She started after him laughing. âYouâre an asshole, Sullivan!â
He stopped so she could catch him. âWhy didnât you get a new towel instead of chasing me?â
âI donât know.â She wrapped the towel around her midsection. Sullivan pulled her close and they kissed. His arms slid around her back and under her legs before she resisted. âLet me go, jerk!â
Jessica landed on the bed. She was still shocked he tossed her. Sullivan howled with laughter then pounced. They rolled around the mess of sheets. Each touch, each movement became stronger in their passion. Their bodies covered in sweat. Breaths and moans grew rapid until they flopped onto their backs. Jessica looked at Sullivan. A smile spread across his face as she smacked him. He recoiled and laughed. âWhy are you hitting me?â
âNow I need another shower.â
âSo do I.â He offered his hand to help her up. âCome on, dear.â
âYou can fix the bed. Iâm showering alone.â He threw a pillow at her head, but she ducked. She picked it off the floor and tossed it at him. She ran before he could react.
Sullivan climbed into the shower behind Jessica. She raised an eyebrow when his skin brushed against hers. His warm arm stretched across her abdomen. His lips touched her shoulder. Jessica lowered her head and swung back so wet hair caught Sullivanâs face. He tickled her sides making Jessica flail in all directions. She started to fall. He kept her steady until she regained balance.
They dried off. Sullivan gave a quick flick of his towel as he finished. The wet fabric snapped next to Jessicaâs leg. She turned in alarm. Her smirk widened as she threw hers at him. She was out the door by the time he could see again.
She stopped Sullivan.
